Closing Day:
Final Walk-Through Inspection. Most closings are contingent on the home passing a final walk-through inspection. The buyer must be given access to the home before closing to ensure that the property is still in acceptable condition. If you agreed to transfer ownership on the date of closing it is important that you have removed all personal items from the property and that the home is clean.
Cancel Home Services and Utilities:
You should set your utilities and other home services to be turned off on the closing date. This includes electric, water, gas, trash pickup and other services.
Closing:
The closing agent will have gathered all necessary paperwork to complete the sale, and you should bring along any cash due at closing and your copies of the contract and loan information. It is important to review all contract and settlement paperwork carefully to ensure no errors had been made.
